This document contains installation and registration information for PowerBar Pro.
Installation
NOTE: it is recommended that you restart your Macintosh with the Shift key held down to turn off extensions before using the installer.
1. Double-click the PowerBar Pro Installer application. A splash-screen will appear--click the mouse to dismiss it.
2. In the dialog window that appears next, drag the ╥Recommended╙ icon on the left panel to the icon of the hard disk on which you wish to install PowerBar Pro. If you only need to install a portion of this utility, click the ╥Other Installers╙ button to view a list of components that can be installed and drag the desired component to the hard drive icon.
3. If you are installing the recommended installation or PBP Key only, you'll be presented with a dialog indicating that this system extension is optional. Read the message and click the appropriate button depending on what you decide to do.
4. When the installation is complete, click ╥Restart╙ to activate (upon restart) either the PBP Key or PowerDrag system extension (if they were installed...see the installer's Read Me for more information on this).
5. To begin using, launch PowerBar Pro by double-clicking the application icon and select ╙New╔╙ from the File menu to create a new toolbar. Drag the icon of any file you wish to add onto an empty button. Repeat this step for all files you wish to install.
For complete documentation, please refer to the PowerBar Pro User's Guide that can be found in the PowerBar Pro Folder that was installed onto the hard disk or the online help provided within the application under the Help menu.
Registration
This software is a special electronic publication of a commercial release. It is not shareware but is rather like shareware in that you have an opportunity to try the software before you decide to purchase it. This release is fully functional. No features have been disabled. You may use it for up to 30 days before you decide to purchase it. After 30 days the software will expire.
If you decide you like what you see and want to purchase the software (and we all hope that's the case :), simply call Trilobyte Software at 513/777-6641 with a MasterCard or Visa credit card at hand. Your registration information will be taken and you'll be given a special registration code that unlocks this software which will then become a fully registered release. No annoying dialogs will further hinder you in your daily computing life.

Special Note When Upgrading from Previous Releases of PowerBar Pro (not PowerBar 1.x)
If you are updating from a previous release of PowerBar Pro, you need to ensure that the following items happen.
1. Delete any previous version of the PowerBar Pro Preferences file found in the Preferences Folder in the System Folder.
2. Make sure the previous toolbar files are in a folder called "Toolbars Folder" which resides within the updated PowerBar Pro folder. Move the Toolbars Folder to the new PowerBar Pro folder if this is not the case.
3. Launch PowerBar Pro and open the desired set of toolbars you'd like to remain open each time you launch.
4. Quit PowerBar Pro to "register" this preferred toolbar set and then re-launch to utilize PowerBar Pro.
